Lake Ontario Salmon Fishing

Lake Ontario Chinook or King Salmon spend almost all of their time in blue waters off the coast of northern New York. They spend their time feeding on the large schools of smaller fish and simply get large and fat. Normally, these salmon mature in 3-5 years but some mature quickly. At times a mature 4-year old can weigh in at over 40 pounds. You heard it; 40 pounds.

With salmon normally ranging anywhere from 20 to 30 pounds, our customers, many times, catch the largest fish of their lives. In fact, the largest freshwater Chinook Salmon ever caught in New York weighed in at 47 pounds 13 ounces. This is why fishing for salmon in the deep waters of Lake Ontario will provide you with a really memorable experience. Leaving from the Newfane Marina in Olcott, NY you will have from 8-10 hours of going after salmon (King and Coho), Steelhead and Lake Trout.

Trust us; you will never forget the time you wrestle with a King Salmon for 20-30 minutes and ultimately drag the monster into the boat. Your arms may be aching but your spirit will be screaming for another one to bite.
